Not exercising because you have kids is a bull$#!t excuse.

Let's get real for a minute. We all have excuses to justify putting off exercise. I get it because I've been there, too. Kids might be one of those reasons why you can't workout. I'm just going to call it...that's a bullshit excuse. How is putting off your health going to show your kids what resilience looks like? How is it going to show what balance and moderation look like? What are your kids learning by you not taking control of your health because you're running yourself ragged day after day to fulfill everyone else's needs?

Approximately 340 MILLION children are overweight! Living a healthy lifestyle is a moral obligation. Yes, I firmly believe that statement.

Your kids want to play with you, not watch you sitting on the park bench. Your kids need you to be present, not plopped in front of the TV distracted by the never-ending Candy Crush levels. They need to see you struggle and pull yourself out of it.

I'm not here to rag on you. I'm here to remind you that YOU are in charge of your priorities and I'm here to help you tune out the excuses.

You have more potential than you think.

Here are a few tips to begin incorporating exercise into your busy soccer-mom life:

  • Shoot for 10 minutes of intentional movement each day

  • Go for a family walk

  • Volunteer as a coach for your kid's sports team so that you're forced to get out and practice

  • Face off with your kid in a push-up challenge

  • Sign-up for a 5k with the family

  • Schedule your short workout in your calendar and if anyone needs you during this time, they either workout with you or they wait

  • Get your workout done during your lunch hour

I hope this helped!
